Who I am
I'm Jessica Burgans. Licensed mental health counselor, combat veteran, wife, mom, and someone who has had to rebuild more than once.
I did a tour in Iraq as a combat medic. I've sat with people in their worst moments, on the battlefield and in the counseling room. Both taught me the same thing: the most dangerous place you can be is stuck, pretending you're fine.
I care about growth because I've needed it. I care about resilience because I didn't come out of hard seasons with it fully intact. I've wrestled with my own patterns. I've had to take ownership when it would've been a whole lot easier to point the finger somewhere else. So when I challenge you, it's not from a pedestal. It's from the same table.
I don't do fluff. I don't do hype. And I stopped believing that motivation alone changes anything a long time ago. Real change happens when you renew your mind, get honest about what's actually going on, strengthen what's been neglected, and build the kind of discipline that doesn't evaporate when life gets hard.
My faith isn't decoration. It shows up because it holds, under pressure, under grief, under the seasons where nothing else did.
I've spent over a decade doing this work. Counseling couples through crisis, certifying professionals in trauma-informed care, coordinating over a hundred weddings, and writing about all of it. I bring all of it to the table.
If you're done with surface-level answers and ready to build something real, you're in the right place.
